School Visit

Saffron had her first school visit today, she turned up with her chair bag and homwork bag ready to go. she had 1.5 hrs of trial time and fitted in really well. Poor Catherine and myself sat and twiddled thumbs for most of it, she was at home! She is in room 10 with Mrs Martin, so far she will be number 7 in the class, starting off small, but probably at 18 by the end of the term.

Saffron impressed us by writing her name on the whiteboard, getting involved with class activities and work. she is looking forward to her next visit friday and starting on Tuesday.

ANZAC DAWN Parade 2010

far too early in the morning but well done Josh, Logan and Kyle who all stayed over the night before and didn't get to sleep till midnight and were up at 5am

When I grow up........

Busy week, back to school, swimming started again, cubs, and gym for the girls!. The girls loved gym and have their first competition coming up in 4 weeks!!!
Cubs is underway and Josh is determined to get some badges on his uniform this term. He will get awarded his home help and pet badge next week and is working towards his music (guitar), photography and hopefully computer, although there is a gardening badge he can do later this year too.
Swimming - all are progressing well, the girls have come on really well and they all continue to make excellent progress.
Saffron is over excited as her two school visits are on Wednesday and friday this week and she has her birthday party next sunday morning, kindy leaving party on monday 3rd and should start school tuesday 4th! busy busy busy!!!
Saffron announce this week at kindy that when she grows up she want's to be a "silly bugger"!!! humm think she is acheiving that already, it certainly had the kindy teachers in giggles!

Josh and India both have had reports home - a new exam style reporting and national standards for the teachers to monitor. Plus parent teacher meetings soon too.
School photos will be 20th May - all three at school tis year - I see a big expense coming on, may need to restrict to just Saffron for the full pack this year!

Molly has been to the hairdresser, close shave!!! fingers crossed there are no frosts till she grows some more length!

Zoe has been snowed under at work with all the new project management workloads, but found time to wind another book - cuddly crochet. I will be stalking the postman!
The postan did bring some goodies today - 2 pairs of lovely rose jeans for the girls and an Arsenal top for josh, India has lived in them all day!

Andy has been busy at work, more trips on the horizon...... but not for a while as his passport has run out (less than 6 months on it!) so we found the money for the renwal and got the forms sent off.

right off for an early night - hopefully, 3 excited cubs having a sleepover ready for the ANZAC dawn parade tomorrow morning, 5am start! then back home for bacon butties!

Retail Therapy

After a wet start the sun came out and we enjoyed the sunshine and the end of the school holidays by a lovely 2 hour tramp in Eccelsfield reserve. We joined friends Maree, Emma and Alex for the wonderful tramp over the back of Silverstream behind the Prison and back to Pinehaven. Then back to Maree's for party tea, It was Emma's 7th Birthday on Tuesday so a belated present and zoe special dairy free chocolate cake!!!! India has descovered Thunderpants thanks to Emma also - Care of one outgrown pair India was in for the rest of the day!!!! www.thunderpants.co.nz I can see these being on her wish list.

A million Miles from the Wonderful Volcanic fun of Europe. Our sympathys are with family Tina and her son Zac who are stuck in Iceland trying to get home. Hopefully the UK Governemnt will go to the recuse and send the ships to rescue UK citizens stuck there in this natural disaster!

Anyway Sales are on and Saffron was keen to spend her Birthday money, plus we had some vouchers to use up..... So here we go...... India is smitten with her new boots!!! Saffron loves her dress and tights and sparkly disco shoes. Josh is chuffed with his new top and mum loves the wool James has dyed.... "Sexy Heather" PLus India had her new gym leotard arrive today in the post - Trade me special. Both girls are signed up for gym on saturday mornings, should prove fun for them. Saffron has been going for nearly 2 years and has her stage 1 badge already.

Pony Rides and Walk

Well, after an incredibly cold start (2.3 degree low) yep Autumn is here and Winter is knocking on the door. The good thing about Autumn is it still can get very warm in he day time - the temp over in the Kapiti was reading 27 degrees in the shade (around 32.9 in the sun) such a big change in just 6 hours!
After relaxing and catching up on housework yesterday and girls having haircuts we decided to go out for the day, the girls were very keen to go back for more pony rides, Josh still didn't want to! They loved their 20 mins of fun. After this we went for a walk through the dunes in the glorious sunshine. There are so many pics I have done a slide show again. Yes the tooth fairy did come $2! We are also having some quotes to get a heat pump put in instead of the old gas fire. It will be much more efficient and cheaper to run.
