Gardening

Spring is coming, and we have started work again in the garden now it has dried out a little. More branches and dead saplings to remove, more planting to be done this year. we have made 2 new veg/flower beds and have some trellis to go up for the raspberries too. Oh and a cute picture of Sid the Pig.

cute and cuddly

Two demanding little girls have requested their own crocheted blankets, so I have been busy crocheting away. I managed to find saffron some pink feather boa wool and India some red ostrich feather wool to finish the edges off. Josh wants one too but awaiting the delivery of a new book of geometric designs - so he will get something different and less of the fluff!!!!

Kiwi As

Well not only has Andy successfully worked on a trailer and got it up to WOF standard - a real Kiwi thing to do, but a combined effort today from us both got the new veg bed almost ready. Andy got to use the big scary circular saw we got on trade me and I got to dig the plot over and hammer the nails in.... I think i got the rough end of the stick.... Anyway we just need 2 more panels to hammer on to the side (thats what happens when you send men shopping), and a bit more top soil (from work when Brett isn't looking!!!!). Then I will be ready to start planting the seeds now spring is almost here.

Meanwhile Pebbles is on Guinea Pig (Sid the pig/Squeeky) duty.

India is happily being an apprentict Kiwi, DIY sign from wood, broken bit of wood, bolt and some paint.

GNS Art Day

I had fun at the art day making use of a 1.5 hr art session lead by Cecily Guarrera where I got to play with some paints. Here is the finished piece..... stand well back, looks better at a distance.....

The Title is 'New Dawn'

Dairy Farm Trip

Today we had a Kindy trip to a small dairy farm in Whitmans Valley. Lots of baby calf's from 2-4 weeks old. We got to milk a cow by hand, and watch 2 go round the milking roundabout before going to see some calf's a Pukeko nest and have morning tea.

Saffron loved bottle feeding the 2 week old calf's and watching the 4 week olds chase after the quad bike and milk feeder.

Facepainting

Apparently mum being off work ill is good fun - especially if Saffron doesn't have to get out of her PJ's and gets her face painted....
