Boxing day bike ride

Right lets lave the TV behind and go for a ride.... it was a struggle getting everyone out the door but we made it and fun was had by all. Andy opted to walk/jog with Molly. Mum dusted off her bike and also went cycling, but soon realised that she can not go another year putting off buying a decent bike!!! We didn't get to the summit this time, just 7 kms, as the girls are on small bikes and got tired, but had lots of fun. mum just has a sore butt! Kids are looking forward to papa taking them cycling too!!! next plan, take a lunch, and get picked up the other side.......

Merry Mollymas

Birthday present

India had her first birthday present today, early. She had her ears pieced. very pretty little flowers with pink middles and diamante petals. They did both ears at the same thankfully and she was very brave. Her ears stung for a while but have settled down within the hour. Soon distracted by Rudolph ears and silly bands (the latest craze!).

Manic Monday

Wow what a weekend, busy busy busy............

India has been to a friends birthday party and sleepover, followed by a trip up the Kapiti coast to visit Kylie, Brett and baby Maddison for a BBQ, dash back to lower hutt for India's swimming birthday party. Only 24 kids!!! They had an awesome time in the pool, with a party tea after, then loads of great gifts to play with. It was a struggle getting up for school today. They all came home with great end of year reports. Josh did great, so fingers crossed, when we apply for HIBS in May. New classes details are coming home Wednesday. Carol concert in the park tomorrow night, fingers crossed the rain stays away........

photos to follow, although we didn't manage to get many at all.......... Josh was official photographer!!!

The Carol Concert

well done by all, we ducked out about halfway through... after an hour.........
Josh did great, having learnt the chords for o'little town of Bethlehem about 30 mins prior!!!! India kind of half learnt their two songs, away in a manger and silent night on Monday!!! I still can not get my head round Snoopy's Christmas song being so big in NZ, kind of passed me by as a kid!!!!

By the way Josh would like money for xmas and birthday as he wants to go to Camp Rock in October 2011. An 8 night residential camp rock holiday - minus Jonas brothers and Demi Lovato!!! Its only $650............. but he does learn drums, keyboard, tight jeans and tambourine vocals, dance, composing, performing.........

The Silly Season has started

Silly season is upon us! Tree is up, with blue skys behind it - 43 in the sun today (28.3 in the shade!!). Josh, India and Saffron went to the GNS children's Christmas party, way too hot, but lots of drink and ice creams and a visit from Santa. India got a magic paint book and Saffron a cup cake trinket box. Josh is a little too old for that these days.......

Then Josh and India are off to the community carol concert. India in her new Brownies uniform. Very different to when I was a Brownie!!! She officially starts in Feb, but has been for a few settling in sessions and is very keen to do the carol concert too. I have been busy crocheting snowflakes for the tree... picture to come once they have been blocked. Mince pies are being bakes and presents wrapped. Jandles are out and sun cream is on and bugger we have run out of gas for the Barbie.....

Unplanned arrivals

Well I was doing well today, off to hydrorobics, twice in three days. Hum that Maree can lead me astray! Talking to Nikki the instructor after the swim and lo, she is moving to JAFA land and is wanting to sell her hen house and 2 Araucana hens (the blue eggs). hum I had just been commenting on how I miss having chickens and the bush would be good for free roaming hens....... ho hum things happen for a reason and Rosie (brown) and Daisy (black) now have a new home at the Juniper petting zoo. The kids loved the surprise, Molly was curious and we havn't seen the cats all day???? humm what did India and Emma do with them after playing vets this morning!!!!

Musical Showcase

Today Josh was performing in front of the school again for the Musical Showcase. He played as part of the Orchestra and guitar group for a number of pieces, plus solos from piano players and a sister and brother duetted jingle bells on violin and flute.

Josh was then given a certificate.
