Unplanned arrivals

Well I was doing well today, off to hydrorobics, twice in three days. Hum that Maree can lead me astray! Talking to Nikki the instructor after the swim and lo, she is moving to JAFA land and is wanting to sell her hen house and 2 Araucana hens (the blue eggs). hum I had just been commenting on how I miss having chickens and the bush would be good for free roaming hens....... ho hum things happen for a reason and Rosie (brown) and Daisy (black) now have a new home at the Juniper petting zoo. The kids loved the surprise, Molly was curious and we havn't seen the cats all day???? humm what did India and Emma do with them after playing vets this morning!!!!

Musical Showcase

Today Josh was performing in front of the school again for the Musical Showcase. He played as part of the Orchestra and guitar group for a number of pieces, plus solos from piano players and a sister and brother duetted jingle bells on violin and flute.

Josh was then given a certificate.

Girls new digs

It took a while, what with field trips and tooth troubles..... Zoe finally got the girls new room decorated and the girls moved in. Mark started the process off with removing the wardrobe doors and handing shelf, putting the new sets of draws in and new hanging rails and shelfs to make matching sides for each of the girls. Then came the 2 layers of under coat to hide the blue that was Josh's room. Then the pink (India) and lilac (Saffron) colour choices, celling and finally woodwork. The wall paper boarder takes 4 weeks to arrive and is a gorgeous horse one, to finish the room. Decorations came via trade me (rug, sheets, mirror, vase, lilac boxes and organza curtains and pole) and a lovely shop in Nelson for the fairly lights and heart curtains. The girls have been excited all morning moving the beds in and transferring the clothes.

Now to start on Josh's room - well maybe in a week or two! But I have ideas for my room too Bamboo wallpaper at just a snip at $75 a roll - ouch!!!! maybe next year!

New veg beds

The two new veg beds are in and running, with corn, radish, carrots, lettuce, chili, peas and a little spinach. The leeks have been harvested and the broccoli, the cauliflower is ready too.

Zoe also had one of her wisdom teeth pulled out on Thursday and is still sore and bruised. But the tooth fairy was generous, made a very small dent in the dentists bill!!!!
