This is a Black tunnel web Spider - found 3 or 4 webs in the garden all within 1 sq metre - next to the garage! arghhhI killed one and captured another! How brave am I!
Ok not poisonous - but big and ugly and not something I am comfortable about at all!!!!
apparently its these little critters that Peter Jackson took his inspiration for Shelob! Yep big and ugly.
