New Bed Frame

After about 8 years, the temporary bed head (the salmon thing!) has finally been replaced by something a little more nicer! Our bed still fits inside the frame and the draws in the base are still usable. It gives us chance to save up for a plush new mattress later in the year. We got it in the sale too,so about $400 off, I love a bargain! Just the rest of the room, curtains and carpets to do too. I have seen the wallpaperI like - ouch $75 per roll!

Wellington - after the snow

Well a very light dusting on the Rimutaka Ranges. A view from Victoria University this morning.

Eggs

Egg production is up - roughly 3 a day now!

They are different enough to spot who is laying too, especially when they come out with their signatures on!

New Gadget

Just so you know, I have added a new gadget to my blog page. On the right you will see a book shelf, it is linked to my Shelfari account where I logg what books I have recently finished. I try and keep it uptodate.

You will see that I have just finished "when God was a rabbit" - highly recommended too! Very different style, but an enjoyable read!

Tweedle Dee

The first Vintage Purls Winter Sock club of 2011 has arrived. Morag has a new yarn base - DK weight nylon blend, her first taster was sent out to us all for the Winter sock club in a lovely deep red called 'Max'. She also supplied two pattern choices, a thicker simple house sock or Tweedle a linen stitch beret with a funky new ribbed cast on to learn. There was also some fudge that has long since gone and a couple of cute badges that are now pinned to the hat. It took less than a week to knit up, even with learning the new cast on and stitch. It then was blocked with a dinner plate to get the shape. Now back to the silk road socks!

Flax Flowers

I have been revisiting the flax flower making skills I learnt a few years ago with a refresher workshop on Friday lunchtime at work. I hope to move on to some more advanced flowers in a couple of weeks.
